Gardening Tip of the Month – Plant Up Summer Hanging Baskets and Containers
Choose vibrant bedding plants for a summer show or herbs, shrubs and evergreens for a long-lasting display.

Planhigyn y Mis – Salvia ‘Hot Lips’
Mae Salvia ‘Hot Lips’ yn blanhigyn poblogaidd, llwynog sy’n tyfu hyd at 1 metr (tua 3 troedfedd) o daldra a lled. Mae’n enwog am ei flodau bach, dau-dôn sy’n edrych fel gwefusau coch llachar yn erbyn cefndir gwyn. Mae gan ei ddail gwyrdd bach arogl llysieuol dymunol wrth eu rhwbio.
Rhywbeth hwyl am y planhigyn hwn yw bod ei liwiau’n newid gyda’r tywydd. Yn ystod wythnosau poeth iawn yn yr haf, gall y blodau droi’n hollol goch, ac mewn tywydd oerach, gallant droi’n hollol wyn, cyn dychwelyd i’w golwg goch a gwyn nodweddiadol.
Plant of the Month – Salvia ‘Hot Lips’
Salvia ‘Hot Lips’ is a popular, bushy plant that grows up to 1 meter (about 3 feet) tall and wide. It is famous for its small, two-tone flowers that look like bright red lips against a white background. Its little green leaves have a pleasant, herbal scent when rubbed.
A fun quirk of this plant is that its colours change with the weather. During very hot summer weeks, the flowers might turn completely red, and in cooler weather, they can turn completely white, before returning to their signature red-and-white look.
