Opal is a very reliable and good quality plum. Produces heavy crops of reddish-purple firm, round, tasty fruits. Flesh is golden yellow, flavour is delicious, slightly sweet. Stone seperates nicely from the flesh, freestone. Known as the early Victoria. The tree itself is upright in habit making a neat pyramid shaped tree. White, scented flowers appear during the spring. One of the most reliable plum varieties for any garden.
