Customer Service, Merchandiser
Clothing, Well-Being & Gift Department
Full time 37.5 hrs per week(Sun – Thurs).
Salary: £11.50 – £12.50ph depending on experience
As a merchandiser and customer service assistant in the Clothing, Well-Being & Gift Department, your role will be to work with the merchandising manager, merchandise new and existing stock, maintain house keep standards, replenish stock as directed and assist customers.
Working closely with the managers to develop, maintain and create a department that is managed and maintained to the standards set out and expected within Fron Goch.
Understanding that flexibility is required with covering annual leave, seasonal late-night Thursday opening when necessary.
Managing the Department Responsibilities
You are responsible for the day-to-day management of the area.
Managing standards. Maintaining cleanliness, health & safety standards in the area. Making sure of the team working with you are doing so in a safe & professional manner.
Working with management to ensure all health and safety training is complete and up to date in your department.
Creating a positive, helpful experience for customers. Be a role model and lead by example. Providing exceptional customer focused service.
Ensuring that any information, new products, guidance for displays etc needing to pass on to the next team member through thorough, good handovers.
Structuring the day according to the needs of the business. Making full use of the day with your team. Recognizing when to focus on tasks and then change to customer service mode.
Preparing work for team members, developing a hand over after each shift.
Displays, Layout & Merchandising
Working with your manager and visual merchandiser/s on displays and layout. Maintaining the structure and layout throughout the season.
Working with the merchandising manager to ensure walk throughs, identify product opportunities & development.
Recognizing and identifying areas that require visual attention in management absence.
Making sure all stock is represented in a presentable manner daily. Ensuring all sizes, colours, presentable for sale. Management of sale items.
Contributing with your knowledge of customers purchasing habits, stock levels as well as artistic input when necessary.
Managing Stock Responsibilities
Working alongside your manager and the EPOS team overseeing stock management. Ensure all overstock and sale is managed.
Overseeing the management of the warehouse stock and area.
Working with the marketing team on POS / events / social media strategies. Be actively willing to participate in the promotion of the department.
Working alongside your manager / buyer, you will be required to contribute with your knowledge of customers feedback on the shop floor. Purchasing habits, comments etc.
Key Skills
Lead by example. Provide exceptional customer service
Understanding the principles of merchandising, particularly clothing.
Overseeing stock management
Work with merchandising team/buyer on display
Managing merchandising & customer care standards
Locking up /key holder responsibilities. Flexibility to cover planned holidays and sickness if necessary.
This role requires a people person – someone who loves customers, understands clothing retail and working as part of a team. Enjoying meeting our customers, dealing with day to day challenges and assisting the efficient and smooth running of our business.
In order to converse with our customers, a good understanding of both Welsh & English would be highly advantageous.
